what is restorative yoga?

Restorative yoga is..., enough time to move gently then settle into a series of longer-held seated and reclined resting poses, supported by comfortable props (bolsters, blankets, blocks) your body can sink into.

In the midst of our busy lives, it can be challenging to make enough time for real rest. My hope is to guide more of the sweet, grounded slowing down that women's bodies and hearts crave. I know I need this.

I also hope to create space where serendipitous connections can take place with and among the creative women in my life. Magic always happens when good women gather.

My living room is spaciously intimate. Six women per evening feels like the magic number so that is how many spots are available to reserve for each of date.


When and where?

Sessions will be held on Friday evenings, at least for now. This is intentional, because in my experience Friday evening is an important but often overlooked transition point. We move from the weekday routine into our weekend and so our body, mind, and spirit need time to truly downshift. I hope these restorative sessions can support us in this downshift, and enable us to inhabit our weekends with even more of presence, creativity, and joy.

Classes will begin promptly at 7pm and I encourage you to arrive as early as 6:30pm and no later than 6:50pm so that you have time to remove your shoes, say hello, have a cup of tea, exhale, and settle in. Class ends at 8:15pm and you are welcome to stay for another cup of tea, or go straight home if your cozy bed is calling you!

6:30-6:50pm: arrive, pour a cup of tea, settle in

7-8:15pm: restorative yoga

8:15-9pm: Head right home or linger for warm conversation
