hecho con amor (made with love)
grace is here already.
yesterday, our beautiful group arrived and came together for a first evening yoga practice, introductions, and dinner.
preparing to meet everyone for the first time (all arriving from different cities and countries: seattle, san francisco, columbia) i found myself bracing for something that never came. i was bracing for expectations – their expectations. what kind of yoga teacher do they expect me to be? what kind of photography teacher do they expect me to be? will i meet their expectations?
i didn’t have to. they arrived instead with huge hearts. playful spirits. inquisitive natures. happy souls. thank you, universe!
this morning i led a yoga practice focused on opening to light, setting a foundation, and listening to our hearts. there was a lot of leg work, and a lot of rooting into the earth to rise up out of it. my favorite part was assisting someone into a half-handstand - her first - and feeling the energy of her heart singing through her shoulders and back as my hands held them in place so that she could feel secure practicing the correct alignment. grace.
a coffee mug from the small café nearby where i enjoyed a vanilla latte (and met a new friend) read, “hecho con amor” and i feel like this place is, made with love. it just keeps getting better…
