breathe

inhale.
exhale.

yoga is centered in this essential pulsation.

i love sharing the benefits of this ancient and evolving practice with others,
connecting body movement with breath,
and exploring poses - from the subtle & integrative to the fluid & expansive.

my style is
heart-centered
alignment focused
informed by anusara, hatha & vinyasa yoga.

i love to learn more, more, more about the human body, and the way we move.

i teach in seattle.
(and sometimes on the road, in exciting places like tulum.)

i also offer:
private yoga sessions
yoga for women in crisis

bio

i have been practicing yoga for well over ten years. my practice and teaching is heart-centered and alignment focused, and informed by anusara, hatha and vinyasa lineages.

i am a registered yoga teacher with yoga alliance, and received my 200 hour certification over the course of two full years of study with the sparkling denise benitez at seattle yoga arts. those hours (and countless more) were happily spent learning and practicing to more effectively teach asana, carefully studying the anatomy of the moving body, principles of alignment, meditation, pranayama and yoga philosophy – and beginning to unlock secrets stored in some of the exquisite, ancient texts from which modern western yoga practices originated and are evolving.

i teach yoga weekly at a seattle shelter for women leaving an abusive partner, new beginnings. i also teach a weekly hatha class at the yoga tree, a yoga studio in the fremont neighborhood. i've recently led two heART yoga retreats in tulum, mexico, combining yoga + meetings with local artists for an inspiring week by the ocean.

in addition to teaching yoga, i am a portrait photographer, working my way around the world (and my own city) to meet and photograph inspiring women for a book project called moving into light, a collection of portraits about transforming the experience of intimate partner abuse, and reclaiming self-love, soft power, sovereignty and wisdom.
